Hong Kong & Macau pre-winter 1

Posted by shonitay at 11/28/2009 10:05:00 PM
I must complain and release my frustrations first.
Wanted to post these pictures at facebook too, but the stupid thing pissed me off...
After the upload progress completed, came the pop up "upload failed" ! FUCK!
I love blogger.com more!! *hugs *hugs
Happy dy... so here goes the pretty pictures...

Me at the airport... make up while waiting..
Arrive at Macau dy...we're in the minibus... going to the ferry terminal. Had to wait for this second bus as some stupid macau people and chinese rushed, cut queues and even went up to the extent of being cheapskates by entering through back door!
We took the older fleet, First Ferry over to HK. When we reach an hour later and we discovered that the weather the was 'just right'! hmmm..... i thought luckily i didn't bring that jacket..
##Flashback: I was asked to bring along super-duper-michellin-look-alike winter jacket which is super duper huge and bulky##
The next morning, we got up and the first thing we did was to eat a SUPER HUGE yau char kuih!! Then we went looking for dim sum and we found the little shop recommended by many bloggers.
This mini shop is super packed with people and the dim sum was good. I like the baked char siu pau the most!
We're at the bus stop waiting for bus to Stanley.
At Stanley beach
At Stanley market which I find kind of boring. Nothing much to buy. Perhaps we didn't explore each of the shops there.
After Stanley, we were tired. So we decided to head back home to Mongkok. See how feel Mongkok is 'home'? hahahha.. cause its always filled with life! We're supposed to go back to sleep but ended up walking along the many streets around that area. This is taken at Ladies Market.
Then we had dessert at the very famous Hui Lau San...you can find all types of mango desserts here. Pretty expensive though...
The next day, we went for Western HK style breakfast at Australian Dairy & Co. Eggs, milk tea, lemon tea, macaroni and bacon soup. They are famed for their scrambled eggs and i found their fried eggs are quite special too..
**oh ya.. if you notice, there's an extra layer of clothing i am putting on...i thought it felt like genting... nice!
We headed to the Tung Chung MTR station where the Citygate outlets are located. Plenty of factory outlets available here. A nice place to shop... I wished i had my girls with me that time..!!
Waiting for our cable car, Ngong Ping 360 to go up to Lantau Island.
**If you notice again, another layer of jacket was on. It was beginning to be colder than Genting
When we reached the island, it was like nightime in Genting. Pretty cold. So we climbed up thousands of steps up to the Buddha statue. The steps were life threatening! Beware! cause i almost died of being out of breath!
The view from top was wonderful. Worth taking the risk of your life!
We then proceeded to the Shao Lin Monastery nearby. They had a gerbang thing which made it feels like i'm in Beijing. Hahahah! *dream *dream
The temple in the monastery I think
On our way out, we saw some cute photo boards, so we took this picture..Please ignore out FAT faces! you just need to look at the BOARD!!!
This was taken at Lan Kwai Fong. Forgive Ping's shaky hands... perhaps he was drunken by the sights of many sexy pretty ladies there! *Darn!!! *jealous mode
Voila! We found the famous Yun Kee Restaurant which is said to be one of the TOP 15 restaurant in the WORLD, the ONLY chinese restaurant on the list! The setback for dining at such place other than the exorbitant price is that we had to WAIT... so here we are... queuing for our turn for dinner.. that is what we always see HK people do in HK TVB dramas
Despite being in a posh and expensive place, we still had to wait a loooooooooooong time! Some people were even sitting on the staircase and along the corridor... (we did too)
When you finally get to be seated and after ordering, we got to wait quite some time too...
Ta-da!!! this is super duper d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!!!
After that late hearty meal which cost us a BOMB! we had to burn some calories
So, we went for a stroll at the mid-level excalators - Longest fleet of excalators in the world.. something like that
Along the way I saw this! Allow me to be a little JAKUN on this, but i have not ever seen such a thing in my life... NOT IN MALAYSIA! MTR FARE SAVER???
We can just Simply wave our Adult Octopus card over the reader on the MTR Fare Saver and enjoy up to $2 discount on our next MTR ride at designated stations. OMG! I LOVE HK!!
~stay tuned for Part 2~
