i know the anticipation is so strong that you can't resist the temptation to know what is the surprise you will get....but trust me, once you know it already, all your money worth that you have paid will go down the drain! #truestory

when modbox said the boxes were sent out already, my heart was racing so fast..
every single time my office bell rang, i feel excited.... i kept on checking back on facebook to see have anyone received it, any reviews, NONE! *disappointed and then i saw one lady got her box and was so happy! that's it! no reviews nothing! i got even more jealous and impatient. 
so when my box finally came! OMG i was super happy can die! 
every single layer of items i removed until i see what is it inside the box made me more and more excited! 
the feeling was awesome!!!!

so then the next box i was due to receive was wonderbox. i was like tak sabar-sabar je.. cause from the first box, i was so excited to know what surprise i will receive! so i search high and low for any reviews.. stalked their facebook to see if there is any hint.... and yeah!! yes! i found a review of this month's box! 
OMG so mad happy ! #bigaccomplishment once i opened the blogpost and read the review, the excitement went from 100000% to 1%. THAT'S IT! 
so instead it became a boring wait for the box, and when i received it, there was not heart racing, nor and feeling except that i just needed to ensure i got the same products like what other's did :| i felt just...meh....

last year i discovered BestBuy World where i could buy lots of miniature samples

much more cheaper than buying from stores due to lack of funds

well, that condition or rather it's me who has not changed

i like using miniature stuff cos it's cute.. just so hahahaa...

when i got to know that my family will be celebrating CNY at Uncle Lim's place.... I PANICKED!
why? cause i found out that we will be up there from the 29th day right up to CNY first day!
its like 4D3N up on the hills, COLD and nothing to do!!!

first thing that strucked me was that i will be bored to death!! that went on in my mind all the way as i drove from Kuantan back to KL! before leaving Tganu, i thought of taking Pingu's Ipad, but i thought he would love to use it too! Love is great. Period.

then when i reached home i saw my saviour!!!! MPH online saved my life!!
much earlier when i read reviews on the genre of books i loved to read which is chicklit i purchased some books based on the recommendation. i felt that the reviewer should have similar taste like me as the reader disliked Eat, Pray, Love too!
i really hated it and i didnt complete the book!
back to my CNY destination story.. so i was pretty awesomely happy with the arrivals of the books and i have planned to so some pretty good reading up the hill... on the bed... warm and fuzzy!!! THAT IS LIFE!! hahahhahhaha now i am happy again.....and then i thought i should pamper myself too..... so i quickly bought some facial masks and beautifying products

me and my mom bought a portable gas stove cause we plan to cook simple meal in the room instead of eating out everyday as it would be quite expensive up there. i had my BAKED BEANS as i loved it very much!! of course visiting uncle lim and getting some ang pow from him is a must too! (hopefully a big one) hahahhaha

somewhere near Christmas time, i was in desperate need to buy a serum for my face as my complexion was quite bad due to many reasons...

and the serum which captured my heart was Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair which was heavily advertised in all reading material i read.... and of course i went to the forums and found many good reviews for it. i had also used it for a few nights when i received a sample from the SA when i bought their cleanser and i find it good.I checked the price for it and i found it way above my budget given financial situation at the moment... so i searched high and low for a solution to this and insisting on not giving up the hope to try out the serum..

then i bumped into this site called BestBuy World where i could purchase sample size serums at reasonable prices. WOW!!! how can there be such good deals that chance upon me when i am so broke??? unbelievable!!! so i tried out and bought some items and got then to deliver to my house where i would pay them cash upon receiving the items! (just to test them and see if they;re really true and sells real stuff or not)
the above are my first purchases from them and i supposed there will be more coming soon as fredonia had taken one bottle of my ANR to try out too!!!

this site is abosolutely faboulous giving me chance to try out products and also purchase smaller packages at lower prices during my financial crisis moment.

However, i have thought about the morality of me buying and the company selling "FREE" sample products which i would eventually get when i purchase from the counters.

Still, its like a lifeline for me, while i pull through this period of my life...
and i reckon it could be a good place to try out new products!

PTPTN Loan

the other day, i received a card from PTPTN informing me that PTPTN is in the process of offering the exchange of 3% loan to 1% Ujrah loan in stages.

WOW!!!
my existing contract is 3% and the change to 1% interest would save me quite a lot

so i updated my information (NRIC No. and email address) in the Ujrah update website (here)

and then an email will be automatically sent to my email address for me to update the process table which requires me to fill in the following information: (am letting you know here since i was one of those wondering what information would they want me to fill in cause i am not so proud of me being not a good payee)

1) my personal details including I/C no, address, email address and contact numbers
2) father's details including I/C no and address
3) mother's details including I/C no and address
4) Employer's location and contact details

Probably the requirement for employer's details is for them to do salary deduction in order for them to approve the reduction of interest to 1%.

then for me how??? i am not working now and i have no employer's details to fill in...

i wonder will they approve my application? someone tell me please?

Virgin kaya

This is the result of my first attempt in cooking home made kaya. Got the recipe from Raymond which had cooked numerous successful 'kaya's.

Colour wise it was ok as it's pandan flavored ma.. Taste was surprisingly good too!!! The drawback was the texture! FML it looks exactly like rat glue!!! Everyone that saw this bowl of kaya asked "why is there rAt glue in an eating bowl?" and they'll go "oppps!" with a sorry face when I said that's the kaya I cooked! Hahahaha. Reason was it was overcooked. So please take note of this when you try to attempt to make some!

FTL FML FOL!!!!!! i had my dress ready and i hope i still can fit in! I WILL ACTUALLY! and i want people to say, WAH!~!!!!!!!!~ SHONI SO SLIM AND PRETTY LIAO WOR!!! fuuuiiittt!! that'll be what i'm expecting! listen up people!!

and then my assistant, too resigned from my company today!! wooohoooO!!!! i am so happy for her!! and i wonder, what's gonna happen to my company? a developer which have no staff??? i pity the house buyers actually..... ~i feel sorry for them actually~

6 Ways to Prevent Leech Bite (Just pick one)

1. Tobacco Sock
Leeches hate the smell of tobacco. Spend a few dollars to buy some grinded tobacco leaves from the tamu or pasar (local market). Put it in a container and add some water (but not too much). Soak the socks in the tobacco+water overnight. The next day let the socks dry out. If you wear it, the leeches won’t dare to crawl on your shoes.

2. Dettol
Heard this from the villagers in Long Pasia. During World War II, some people was wondering how the Japanese soldiers can bear the leech bites. Later they learnt that the army applied Dettol on their hands, necks and legs. The strong smell kept the leeches away. However, if you do jungle trekking, I won’t advise you to do this coz your strong smell will also scare away all the wildlife hundred feet away.

3. Stocking
I heard from someone that there is a scientist in Danum Valley. He enters the forest frequently for research and seldom got leech bite, though he wears short pant. His secret is to wear the stocking (yes, the one used by lady).

4. Leech Sock
The most common way of preventing leech bite. In the begining, I thought this sock contained special chemical to scare away the leech, so I spent RM15 to buy it (expensive!!! Better use my Xmas sock). No, it is not. Basically it is just a long sock that you wear it normally and tie the other end, only to cover the opening of your sock and jean. If a leech crawls on your sock, then you can see it and get rid of it.

5. Insecticide Sock
I got this tip from a friend who works for a lumbering company. Just got a long sport sock, like the one wore by ah pak (old uncles) for jogging. Wear it all the way up to your knee (also cover the opening of your jean). Then spray Baygon brand insecticide on the sock. FYI, other brands such as Ridsect does not work well.

6. Insect Repellant
Thanks to Emily. The easiest way is to buy a Mosi-Guard (60ml costs RM26, 100ml RM28) at Guardians and spray it on your skin. It is an insect repellant but its eucalyptus extract can prevent mosquito, as well as leech attack up to 6 hours.

after shedding bucketsfull of tears, sobbing like there's no more tomorrow...
and also pleanty of heartache due to the stubborn nyonya...
i tiba-tiba felt like nyonya-lutionised.. like got influenced a bit dy...
hahahha.. so i went and buy myself this…

This is what we called Mortar and Pestle if you haven't learnt about it yet. In Malay, it's called Lesung Batu.... and to search for this picture i went on a big search for it... and my effort was fultile cause i keyed in 'polar and molar'!! wtf! they gave me pictures of polar bears!!

last weekend i was back in raub... home alone cause ping was busy working... so had nothing to do and decided to cook!

back to the nyonya dishes... kangkung belacan first.. but this version of mine is an improved one... i used the XO Sauce i made recently. it gives the dish a unique twist due to the presense of dried scallops..

next up....ayam pongteh behind the bombastic pongteh name... this is actually some chinese dish that we used to eat at home called 'tau si man kai'...preserved soy bean with chicken... anyhow, i followed the recipe and the dish turned out EDIBLE and nice too... of course with some drawbacks as this is the first time i cooked this dish. with the preparation of this dish i could understand and see the reason why the polar and molar thing.... aiyah.. lesung batu is needed! the gravy damn nice ok!

POints to note: MUST 'man' this dish long enough for the sauce to absorb into the meat/potatoes/mushroom and dont put too much the preserved soy bean paste...

#3 Petola Fried Egg

OMG! i tasted this last week when my mom cooked it at home and i immediately got hooked to it! Just like the normal long beans fried egg ommelette, you use Petola instead! its super duper yummy i swear!!! just go try it!

~~the tips: fry GARLIC till fagrant first, then add in petola. Stirfry till soft.. add in the beaten eggs with soy sauce/salt! done! the GARLIC will make the whole dish wonderful!!

and just for knowledge, the bath scrub or kitchen sponge that some used is made from dried cucumber as i knew all this while is actually dried petola!

#2 Chillies

Chillies/chilli padi specifically are sold in the departmental store in a whole packet and usually in chinese cooking, we seldom use it/wont be able to use such huge amount to be able to finish off the whole packet before the chillies become dried up and/or rotten.

~~again, put the whole packet into the FREEZER and the chillies can last u a long long time still looking fresh everytime u use it!!

yays! now that i know of this, i can go buy some so that i can add chillies here and there in my cooking cause i heard that chillies help burn fat!! woohoo!!!

#1 Super Glue

Ever felt that you are wasting money when you opened a tube of super glue/gam gajah, used a little (just because a little of this super powerful glue will just do the trick) and the balance will end up hardened and unusable?

Fret not! i've got a solution to this! the saviour to your glue is in your home!!

~~After using the glue, you just need to keep the remaining balance tube into the refrigerator specifically the FREEZER!

that will just do the trick cause the glue will be frozen before it even could become hardened!
next time when you want to use it again, just take it out from the freezer and then when the frozen glue melts, you can use it again!!!

BRILLIANT!!
