Annual Trip - Kota Kinabalu - Part 1

Hi! i'm back from our annual ladies trip! #trippingals

Our annual trip is always so awesome that we pledge to do it every year till we are old, fat and wrinkly!

hahhahhahahha oh well, probably yennee will be the fattest then! wtf

what do we do on our trip? 

we pamper ourselves, we eat, we sleep, we laze around and we talk

we talk, we gossip, we laugh, we plan for our future

PLAN??? yeah we girls can plan ok!

every year, without fail, during our annual trip, we plan for..

OUR NEXT TRIP!!!

last year we chose Kota Kinabalu, Sabah as our destination this year

where we spent half of our time by the beach...

and the other half in the highest mountain on SEA!!

here are some of the pictures to show how awesome our trip was..

Part 1: Beach Edition

This is our Master Guide, Mr Zeke!

oh, did i mention that we stayed in a 5 star resort at Manukan Island?

though the breakfast and food there is not up to expectation, but the service was quite good

and yeah, we got free VIP boat ride to and back from the hotel

when we checked in we got welcome drinks and gift!

and when we checked out, got goodbye fruits also! hahahhaha

 this is where i slept for the two nights..

so nice and cosy hor.. ❤

the island had a Sun Set Point for us to view sunset, of course!

it was a 30 min walk they said, but to me, it was a 30 mins HIKE!!

so bloody tiring up and down the terrain in the jungle

then when we reach the point °O°

and oh, we also had VIP escort services to the sunset point..

only for us as one of the staff Shahrul was jogging then end up he became our guide and bodyguard!

we left pretty early as we want to avoid walking in the dark jungle at night

so we continued our sunset watching on the jetty

next morning, we woke up for breakfast, then we laze around on the beach 

(yeah i know! that bloody mozzie sucked up my blood!)

Manukan Island is open to public, but they had a section of the beach reserved only for in house guests

nah... bigger in case you cannot see how VIP we were

what do 4 pretty girls and 4 smart phones do??

and take awesome pictures

the next morning we woke up early to take pictures at the jetty before any intruders come to the island

it was peaceful and calm, relaxing of course!

after breakfast, we had to do some exercise!

then we had some pretty photo shoot again :)

then in the afternoon we went to the pool

also for in house guest only!!

they had this romantic day bed for siesta.. 

and this super deep pool where i cannot swim at all (even with life jacket)

the last night, we had our dinner in the only restaurant on the island, Perahu Restaurant

food was mediocre, like 'meh' only 

my recommendation, bring in instand noodles! 

we enjoyed ours the first night in our VILLA 

again, VIP, the only customers sitting indoors

our ride back to mainland, ahem, VIP ride again!! hahaha

and i shall end part 1 with the awesome view of the jetty @ Sutera Pacific

The Proposal 23.06.2013

Better write it down early before I forget, or should be we forget… everything got to be plural now….like us, we, family *panics

So this Pingu planned it for some time already by telling me stuff and feeding me with information so to let me feel that he will not be proposing anytime soon. Things like he’s so busy with his work now.. not time for other stuff lah, need to focus on job.. can’t focus on any other stuff. Also in T’ganu no place to buy ring, so if he comes to KL to buy, then I’ll surely know. Plotting to secretly come to KL to buy without my knowledge some more! So I was like confident jer nothing will happen anytime this year.

The night before we go to Langkawi, we met his colleague to collect some 'spare parts' for work. (now I know it was my ring WTF) While they were chatting, I took the bag to have a look inside. Inside I saw two boxes.. a cardboard partially covered box that look like a ring box and another box as well with some paper . Immediately I my mind went… OMG! That looked like a ring box! Did he plan to propose? *panic mode on

Surprisingly, Pingu was just as calm, continude drinking his coffee, NO REACTION. His friend however panicked asked me why I simply go take and see people things! Hahahahha! So I returned it to the table and continue thinking…. If it was a ring, then why got two boxes? Takkan he go buy his own ring also meh straightaway? But he had no reaction, so shouldn’t be lah.. some more on our way back, he gave and ask me to keep that bag for him!!!! so I lagi confirm that it’s not ring lah!! Hahahahha damn relieved!

Well, he hid the ring+ box+spare ring (just in case he felt like kenakan me) in the laptop bag that we use as bag pack! When in Langkawi.. I did not carry any bag.. so he carried my purse and phone for me.. and I have been like digging the bag as usual, putting stuff in, taking stuff out… and I did not find those stuff he hid!!! Damn fail rite me?

On 23 June 2013, there was supposed to be a super moon and I thought being at the beach was the best place to view the moon.

So we were on the beach, at one far corner, just us. And I was disappointed that the moon I saw was just normal moon except that it is kind of blur… covered with haze I think! Hahahha.. I was there googling on my phone.. searching if it was the right day to view super moon etc.. when I noticed Pingu was using his phone also. I asked what was it he was doing, he said, searching about red wine stuff… (LIE! He was searching about proposal stuff hahahahha)..

So fine.. gave up on super moon, might as well just walk together and enjoy the beach.. I really love beaches especially night time..:) As we were walking, he asked me to carry the bag pack.. huh! ordering me some more! So I turned my back, so that he can put the bag on for me to carry. After that I continued walking, not yet even one step, he called me.

I turned around, there he was smiling cheekily with a ring box in his hand!! @.@
My first reaction was, OMG he’s proposing.. what to do?? *hyperventilates
I think I tried to run… hahahha… I felt I needed to hide…
I was SHHHYYYYYY!!! my face was feeling so hot... probably it had turned red dy! hahaha

He held me tight and knelt on his knees… and said a bunch of things which I cannot remember!!
Damn touching all the things he say until half way he not yet finish talking I felt I wanna cry dy so I fast fast hug him so that my tears won’t fall.. hahahhaha.. want face until like that..

Apparently my answer to him was “ok..ok.ok..” hahahhahah forgot to say YES… later I think I did say when he asked me again to reconfirm.. hahahhaha

Then he put the beautiful ring on my ring finger… and we kissed.. ;)

We walked and sat by the beach.. so that he can turn on the flash light to show me the ring which was absolutely beautiful.. :) just like what I dream of… and it was so big.. I could wear it on my thumb!

How did he manage to smuggle the ring there? Well, he hid it in his back pack, covered by a piece of ‘used’ hello kitty tissue and with a new pack on top.. the picture explains it all.

And he knew if I saw it, I would not touch it.. cause I will feel yucky touching the used tissue.. THAT REALLY HAPPENED!! I wanted to take the tissue, and I really did saw that ‘used’ tissue, and I thought.. yeee.. so disgusting one.. stuff so many dirty tissue here.. yucks! Not gonna touch it!

So that’s the story of the proposal. Too bad no recording of it.. because Pingu tried to record, but his butt clicked stop cause he kiap the phone on his butt with his shorts waitstband! Hahahhahah he damn kek sam lor! Hahahhhahaaa

I felt so super happy and excited that I could not sleep the night and I woke up super early before sunrise! Really super happy and I felt so loved (actually more like FINALLYyyyyy someone wants to marry me! wahahahaha)… i felt so comfortable and so safe in his arms and knowing that he will be there for me always.

Up or down; hard or easy; good times or bad times we’re going to walk hand-in-hand through our journey of life, together. *sniffs

My latest scent-diction

It all started with a sale by The Body Shop!
So I checked out online, and was attracted to the Vanilla shower gel because;
1. It was on 50% off at rm14.50

2. TBS shower gels to me were like special indulgence... So once it's on sale, I grab some
I also planed to buy the other shower gel like Raspberry and Passion Fruit, provided that I liked the smell. So after work, I accidentally got myself to a BodyShop outlet to buy them.

At the first sniff, I was blown away! The smell of Vanilla captured my heart and I feel in love with it immediately. However, it was unfortunate that they had only the small bottle there. The bigger bottle was Sold Out! Heart broken, I bought two small bottles, cause I just loved the smell but unwilling to pay so high price for shower gel. I also bought the Raspberry shower gel but left out the passion fruit one. From my choices, it was obvious that I liked sweet scent.

So there I was, sniffing that bottle of shower gel all the way home. I planned to go to another outlet to try look for the bigger bottle Vanilla shower gel but ended up calling every outlet nearby after a light bulb moment! Ta-da! Disappointed that all outlets are out of stock, I called EVERY OUTLET in Selangor/kl, Kluang, Alor Setar, Penang and Rawang... Where there will be people who can help me buy. But I ended up disappointed as well. I even went till the extent of pleading with TBS online people if they can look for me. Finally, reward for not giving up, I found that there are available stock in Kuala Terengganu!!!!! I was so so so happy and told Pingu, practically instructed Pingu to go buy them for me... Of course, I had reserved it ahead! Muahahahhahhahah

So now, I have 6 bottles (250ml) Vanilla shower gel, 2 travel size bottles, and 1 body mist!

I could not control my addiction, that I decided to go look for the EDT/ body mist...
I bought the mist as it was on 20% discount...

And I plan to buy the EDT soon.... Let's see how long this addiction lasts....

P/s; while looking for the body mist, I was introduced to their best selling fragrance range as well.., the Japanese Cherry Blossom... It was sweet..... My next target... :)

my super awesome 2013 holiday plans

i am so so so so happy as i am typing now

when i heard the news, i went like ... WHAT??? 

really??? sure??? is it true???

dun lie lah ok???

OMG OMG OMG!!!

then my hands and feet turned icy cold.. 

my heart was beating super fast

anyway, the ultimate surprise was...

that i could go for an all expense paid trip in APRIL

HOKKAIDO!!!!

how awesome is that right?? this is madness lor!!! 

but this trip got long story de....tell next time lah...

i think i am damn hang fuk hor? 

the rest of the places planned shall be a mystery..

i have the adult version of this baby to feast my eyes on all day!!

when you are reading this now, i should be on a flight to Tokyo already...

so it'll be too late to ask for souvenirs!! muahahhahahaaa

s'mores

oh boy, it's been almost a month since i have neglected my blog...

but i do have my excuses... February or rather beginning of the year is the busiest month for HR 

so to compensate for the long hiatus, here's a recipe for some sweet delights...

i came across 's'mores' in kaykay's blog.. and i thought, "these babies are cute!"

so after my salted egg cookies baking frenzy for CNY 

i had to bake those...

so i googled for a more precise measurement for s'mores

then i found this website.. and these are hers

awesome!!

so i thought it would be easier to eat in mini cups...

my end result! 

all the marshmallow melted, and sunk... totally fugly!

and over the next days, it became hard, sticky and it was so NOT marshmallowy :(

then i decided to NOT bake the marshmallows

try and see how it turn out to be...

voila! perfect... all too perfect for me!!

soft chewy marshmallow, bitter sweet chocolate on a crunchy salty base

see how pretty these babies ... i purposely choose colorful mini ones ;)

enjoy making this simple gooey goodness!

My Recipe: S'mores

S'mores:
150 grams - Jacob's Weetameal crumbs
25 grams - castor sugar
90 grams - butter, melted

Topping:
170 grams - semisweet or milk chocolate chips or chunks
2 cups (as needed) miniature marshmallows

S'Mores: 
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C and place the oven rack in the center of the oven.

Stir together the cracker crumbs and the sugar. Add the melted butter and stir until all the crumbs are moistened. Line mini cup trays with mini cups, then press this mixture firmly onto the bottom of the mini cups. (i use mini tart cups instead of trays) Bake in preheated oven about 10 minutes, or just until the crust begins to turn golden brown. Remove from oven and let it cool.

Melt the chocolate then pour a thin layer over the cracker base. Sprinkle mini marshmallows over the chocolate while it is still in liquid form.

Can be stored at room temperature for several days.

i know.. its more than a month since i updated my blog here...

i am not that busy actually its just that i have no computer at home for me to use,

my ipad is not 'jailbreaked' so cant use free blogging tool and

not so free (not in the mood) to blog from office

excuses, excuse3s.. yadda yadda..

i know my japan post is taking wayyyyy too long for me to complete and its like almost a year already!

anyway, here's a commercial break 

one day, my company tendered for a job from Tan Chong and my colleague was going to submit the tender

and coinccidently, i baked some bread the day before and brought some to office

so at the very last minute, i made my colleague wait for me

and i made this!! and wrapped in a plain brown envelope.

for mike mike!! 

of course i didn't tell her! obvious rite? SURPRISE mah!!

so my colleague left the parcel at the receptionist for her

inside is one hot dog bun :)

this mike mike ah... receive surprise gift also never show of to us heng dais! 

i was waiting for email from her...

expecting her to be damn gan cheong, surprised and show off...

emailed all of us and tell us about it!!

NO! that didnt happen :(

so what to do? i got my collegue to drop her a call..

just to confirm that she received it

he was clever to say that he's calling from a part time courier company

then this girl ah, called back to ask who is it from

(i supposed she started thinking after she confirmed receiving the item)

my collegue said, no idea as he's just a part time despatch!

so later that night i called her....

just to see if she had thrown the bread away..

guess what?

SHE ATE THE BREAD ALREADY!!!!

omg!!! how dangerous! dunno who sent it but she just ate it!!

well, she explain that she felt safe to eat

just because....
