I had sore throat on Saturday… then was down with flu with a little fever on Sunday and Monday, so I took MC and stayed at home to rest. At night, I thought it would be better if I go for a check with the hospital. Was advised to go to Sungai Buloh Hospital but I didn’t know how to get there. So I went to HUKM instead. I reached at about 10.30pm and went straight to the emergency section. When I enquired about the test, I was informed that they do not simply perform throat swab on everyone. I had to first see the doctor, which I was told by the staff that it will take me 5 hours and after that the chances are that I will be diagnosed with common flu and fever only!!wtf?!?! Then I asked, how about the other hospitals or even private ones that performs such test?? I wouldn’t mind paying for it. He said that other government hospitals would be the same and as for private hospitals, he would have no idea.. Then on the way back to PJ, I thought, since I would be passing by Damansara Specialist HOSPITAL, why not I drop in and check whether they have the service there. To my utter dismay, they said they don’t perform tests for H1N1 there. I had to refer to SG Buloh Hospital or Selayang Hospital.
Today (Tuesday) felt very much better already. However so, many advised me to go to a government hospital for a throat swab.. to play on the safe side especially when there’s news that some people with no complete symptoms are tested positive. So after my physiotherapy for my knee, I headed to Sg Buloh Hospital after so many referrals to go there. After wondering whether to go to the emergency section or the normal section, I decided to go to the normal ward, as I do not see any specific counter for H1N1 at the emergency. After finding a nice spot to park, I went in to enquire, only to be redirected to Poliklinik Kesihatan Kg Melayu some 10 minutes away from the hospital. So with the map provided, I drove there. Got lost as I thought the JAMBATAN on the map refers to a overhead bridge. Haha!! Found a Klinik Kesihatan after the surau, but it is called Klinik Kesihatan Sungai Buloh. Wtf?? Can’t they get the name right?? Ok. Fine. Got in and found a parking… put on my Rm15 N95 mask, and headed in to ask for the counter to test H1N1 and I was told that….
“Kita tak buat test di sini.” WTF?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!
“Mungkin you boleh cuba di hospital lain atau private.” WTF!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!
Then I saw this!!
Wtf!!!!! If they don’t perform the test here??? Then where???? I am so pissed off with our country’s health care services. They say go to the nearest hospital if you have the symptoms. WTF!!! I have been here and there and everywhere… and I ended getting a notice that H1N1 test are not performed!!!! WTF!!!! No wonder there are more and more people getting infected by the virus!! Our country is just not serious in COMBATING this issue. Live are at stake now!!!!!!!!! HELLO HEALTH MINISTER!!! Whoever you are!!!!!!! Stop all the politicking and start doing the right thing!!!!!!!!!!
Then I called up Sg Buloh Hospital and the sweet lady confirmed that I was at the right place. She advised me to request to see a doctor instead of requesting for a throat swab. So in I went again and I got this…. OMG!! I had to wait after 212 people before I could get myself REGISTERED!
After the long wait, finally I got registered and then I had to wait for about 30 people before it was my turn to see the doctor. Praise the Lord! Doctor said I am not contacted with the H1N1 virus. But then later she say, actually many people can get infected by the virus, but as long as the body immune system is strong, then there wont be serious harm. So what I need to do is continue to complete the antibiotic course the clinic gave me and take lots of vitamin C. I am supposed to buy it from the pharmacy outside because the ones available in the hospital are not strong enough. Wtf!?!?! This H1N1 is so bad these days and why is the hospital not stocked with sufficient STRONG vitamin C??
So, from now on everyone must keep their immune system strong. SLEEP EARLY, DRINK LOTS OF WATER and EXERCISE regularly… (I’ll try..hahaha!!)
Since I am complaining so much regarding our healthcare… additional information here:
The last time when I went to Singapore, at the checkpoint to enter Singapore, there were people with Polaroid camera-like thing to check our body temperature. If anyone is found with fever, I guess our friendly neighbour would deny entry to its territory…. That’s how protective Singapore is of its citizen!
Negaraku, Malaysia however, as I was returning from Singapore, there was NO ONE who checked our body temperature or car at all!!! Just check your passport and off you go. Why only apply the checking at airports??? Why not at the causeway?? Now you know how much your country loves you!! Now you know where the HEALTH of the citizen stands compared to the WEALTH the government can accumulate from politics!
Which is more important to you?? HEALTH or WEALTH??
